Musical Mood Of The Day: The Shadows
Hello, Steem users! For today's musical mood of the day I'll be briefly talking about The Shadows, one of the greatest classic rock bands in history. The Shadows were formed in London in 1958, being centered around frontman Hank Marvin (lead guitar). The Shadows are the fourth best selling British musical act in the history of the UK single charts, behind Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Cliff Richard.
On through decades of activity, the band had released an impressive number of both studio and live albums. In total, The Shadows have 40 studio albums, 13 live albums, 57 EPs, and no less than 89 singles. Aside from their commercial and critical success, the band has been pointed out by many later rock musicians as a tremendous influence. As an example on the matter, Pink Floyd's early frontman Syd Barrett was a huge fan of Hank Marvin in his college years, to the point where he actually taught himself how to play 'Apache'.
