Musical Mood Of The Day: Mike Oldfield

Good afternoon, everyone! In today's musical mood of the day article I'll be discussing about Mike Oldfield, an English progressive rock solo artist. As some of you might already know, Mike Oldfield is a self though guitarist who started performing at a very young age, having distinguished himself in the field of instrumental compositions.

His most remarkable solo records featuring extensive, catchy instrumentals include 'Tubular Bells' (1973) and 'Ommadawn' (1975). In 2017, he released a sequel to the latter album entitled 'Return to Ommadawn'.

During the early 1980s, he had collaborated with Maggie Relly, a Scottish musician, with whom he most notably released the singles 'Moonlight Shadow' and 'To France'. Throughout a career spanning more than 4 decades of music, he managed to release no fewer than 26 studio albums, some of which charted very high in Europe and overseas.
