Musical Mood Of The Day: Cream

in #music6 years ago (edited)

Hello there, fellow Steem users from all across the world! Today I would like to write a few lines about a great classic rock band known as Cream. For those of you who might not be familiar with this name, Cream also happened to be the second musical act in which blues rock guitarist Eric Clapton played (after performing with the Yardbirds as well as with John Mayall's Bluesbreakers for some time before).

Cream was a short-lived English rock supergroup which consisted of Eric Clapton on guitar and vocals, Ginger Baker on drums an percussion, and Jack Bruce on bass and keyboards. The band managed to release a total number of four studio albums over a period of time spanning three years, from 1966 to 1969. Cream also managed to sell an impressive number of copies of their records worldwide (more specifically around 15 million units).

They are mostly known for a couple of their hit singles which include 'Strange Brew', 'Sunshine Of Your Love', 'Badge', or 'White Room'. Cream was subsequently inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1993. All in all, the band is credited for their innovative sound that actually influenced many other classic rock artists and groups that followed along the late 1960s and early 1970s (such as Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin).

Below is a fine selection of some of their songs as well as a brief documentary on understanding the band. Enjoy!
