Esbjörn Svensson Trio - A Swedish Jazz Band You Should Really Listen To

Hey, all! Today's Sunday, a perfect day for listening to jazz in my humble opinion. Therefore, I would like to recommend you a Swedish jazz band you should take a listen to if you're really into the genre.

The band's called Esbjörn Svensson Trio (also known by the acronym e.s.t.) and was founded and fronted by pianist Esbjörn Svensson from 1993 to 2008, when the latter was tragically involved in a scuba diving accident in Stockholm and lost his life.

Esbjörn Svensson Trio were one of the most critically acclaimed contemporary jazz bands and even enjoyed a certain degree of commercial success. Lately, namely since 2013 onwards, Magnus Öström (the drummer) and Dan Berglund (the bassist) have been touring with the project e.s.t. symphony alongside fellow Swedish conductor Hans Ek, playing symphonic versions of the e.s.t. songs and thus paying homage to their former bandmate Esbjörn Svensson.
