Album Review: Green Day - "Father of All Motherfuckers"

in #music4 years ago

Green Day does it again with one of the most influential album of the new decade by talking about teenage life.

Since their 7th hit album launched sixteen years ago (2004) titled "American Idiot", Green Day has been singing a new tune. With different styles; rock opera songs, "Jesus of Suburbia" and "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" and ballads, "Are We the Waiting" and "Wake Me Up When September Ends", the album won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album in 2005.

The 2009 album, "21st Century Breakdown" was Green Day's second attempt at this new style. With 19 songs encompassing a whopping 1 hour and 11 minutes, the band did it again with hit singles such as; "21 Guns", "Know Your Enemy" and "Viva La Gloria."

On August 11th, Green Day debuted an early release of the single titled "Bang Bang" off of their album "Revolution Radio" that was released on October 7th 2016, a year after their induction into the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame", The 12th album includes other hit songs such as; their self-titled single "Revolution Radio", "Somewhere Now", "Bouncing off the Wall" and my personal favorite "Still Breathing."

On September 30th 2019, Green Day signed a 2 year agreement with the National Hockey League to use the single "Father of All..." off of the new album which was released the next year on February 7th 2020 as a promotional piece for the NHL's video sequences.

The release of "Father of All Motherfuckers" is a 10 song, 26 minute album by Green Day, released on February 7th of this year (2020). With song lengths ranging from, 2 minutes to 4 minutes, the album has an appeal for listeners with attention deficit.

Review Foreword

Coming from a bi-polar background and being picked on when I was younger, I have done my share of drugs and alcohol to drown out the troubles that where not really there. This review is about my opinion on the songs and does not factually explain the message that Green Day is trying to accomplish.

All in all the entire album, in my opinion, is about a depressed teenager sick of the way things are and looking for some release from the daily drama and bullshit that makes up high school life by taking drugs and drinking alcohol.

The Review of "Father of All Motherfuckers" by @unclemantis

The first track titled "Father of All..." in my opinion is about our obsession with money and how it is killing us inside. With paranoia and worry, the song talks about looking for release, a "miracle" if you will.

The next track titled "Fire, Ready Aim", in my opinion, is about not taking things so seriously and how people punish themselves for doing wrong.

The song "Meet Me on the Roof" is about depression and how your lowest low is just the beginning of a new depth. The good times are over, jump!" Following this song is "I Was a Teenage Teenager" and how school is for suckers and how a young life seems like a mess with all kinds of problems.

"Stab You in the Heart" has a fifties rock and roll kind of feel to it. Talking about break ups and how cheating girlfriends are just not right. Following is "Sugar Youth" talking about high school, prom queens, not wanting to be romantic and just wanting an escape from it all by using drugs.

The next two songs are about escaping to a drug and alcohol stupor, looking to get high enough to touch heaven and escape from the troubles of being a teenager. How one can be such a nervous wreck, that money or selling sexual services for the hit that one needs to relax is what it is all about.

I hope that you enjoyed my review of Green Day's new album. Not sure if they rushed it but it is pretty quick and to the point. Below you can find links to the music videos and their 2020 tour.

I think you have some potential, and I see as a new account you have purchased some STEEM, which is always good.

I would suggest you post less as the community only have a limited amount of VP, and add some more personal opinions to your reviews, the more personal touches you give them, the more you will be appreciated.

Avoid services like raise-me-up as you are wasting STEEM. It will make no difference.

Use your voting power, it's on 100% which is wasteful. You could be earning curation rewards.

I never got into Greenday, but I am a punk fan from the early days, but that's besides all the other stuff I just mentioned.

Hope to see some more reviews from you.

Use my voting power as you want me to upvote other posts more? Curation rewards... what do you mean?

Also I should EDIT my past articles/posts and ADD content instead of creating new posts?

Thank you for the wonderful comment!

Yes, never let it get to 100% as it's not working for you.

It's not a lot per day, but a trickle of STEEM if you work it more.

Also I should EDIT my past articles/posts and ADD content instead of creating new posts?

No, just slow it down some. I post once per day, that quite normal, and congrats on the @curie!

Thank you for the wonderful comment!

Yor welcome, always good to see original stuff.

An interesting criticism although I do not share all points of view. Basically, I'm not sure it's the most influential group that talks about teenage life. I think Green Day has a great musical job but nothing more. Best regards @unclemantis, I liked reading you.

Thank you for your honesty!

Thank you for accepting my honesty

I prefer Offspring and Blink 182...
