Ensiferum, Wind Rose and Ex Deo live experience - April 2018
Hi Steemians,
just a short review about the concert last weekend. On Saturday we went to a small location in Ludwigsburg (Germany) to see the 3 bands live. Ensiferum were the main act and Wind Rose and Ex Deo the supporting acts.
Wind Rose
I was so excited to see these guys live. I found them on youtube one month ago and was really happy when I saw they play as supporting act for Ensiferum. They are Italian guys who are dressed like Nordic dwarfs and sing for example about the mythology of the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The music is a mix between power metal and folk metal with mostly clean, deep singing. You can dance to this music as well as headbang or jump to it.
To be honest when I listened to the music videos on youtube I was very skeptical if they can play and sing the songs in this high quality live. It's often sang with several voices parallel and I thought that was recorded from only one person so it's impossible to do it live. Far wrong! The guitarist and bass player both sang in the background and it was as good as on the records - maybe even better! We had a great party and you can see these guys have fun on the stage. They even wear their Dwarf-dresses and fuck this must have been hot as hell - big respect and I hope to see this band on some festivals the next years!
Besides their known songs like To Erebor or The Returning Race they also played a new song "Drunken Dwarfs" - great one.

While Ensiferum played we found the singer dancing in the crowd and having a party with the audience. We also spoke to them after the Ensiferum-show and they were very likeable. They were really drunken dwarfs... they live their music 😁
Ex Deo
After the Italian Dwarfs played their show the next band entered the stage: Canadian Romans (strange music world). Ex Deo are dressed like Romans and sing about the Roman history and mythology. That's the reason they're often called a pagan metal band although the music is definitely more into death metal. It's a side project of the well known band Kataklysm, founded in 2008.
It's not our music but we knew that before so we watched it from the background and drank something. Although it's not our kind of music we have to admit that these guys played a great show and the audience loved them. Sometimes I thought "Yep while that part it would be great to stand in the middle and headbang to it" but I was happy with my mead.
Ensiferum
Finally I saw them live! After two missed chances I finally made it to one of their shows! And it was worth the less sleep from Sunday to Monday and my painful neck yesterday and today.
Ensiferum is a Finnish folk-metal band, singing about legends and battles, playing a quick and melodic metal with awesome guitar riffs. They played a good mix between new songs from their latest album (from 2017) and older songs. For example For Those About to Fight for Metal (new), Two Paths (new), Wanderer (old) and Into Battle (old). Into Battle is my absolute favorite song from them and I went crazy when they played it in the end.
It was a great show and even my girl and our friend, who both don't know Ensiferum as good as me, had a big party. And as wrote above, they had a great support through a drunken dwarf in the crowd!

but because of difficult relationships with the bosses I had to leave a week earlier to work) of vacations and many travelling by car. so cant enough time and possible to be on steem) but sometimes its great -
