Aretha Frankline Tribute
For some of us her sound is engrained in our memories from the 60s, 70s and 80s. Whether from listening to the radio watching TV or finding her in a movie.
I remember seeing her on TV as a kid in the early 70s and her iconic classic R E S P E C T. "...She took an Otis Redding song and made it a declaration of independence..."
"I was talking about the male-female relationship. The respect part of it became a mantra for the Civil Rights Movement and for people everywhere," Franklin said

Knowing none of this at the time and in the decades that followed I always took it to mean just what she quoted above. Respect the humanity in all people. What a beautiful message and a timeless one at that.
