Sydney busking

Busking is something I do now and then.
It is very different to any other kind of gig because you are much more exposed.
There are no comforts of a stage or a person to introduce you.
You have to make the stage, out of a footpath.
You have to put yourself out in people's way and hope they don't mind.
And hope they like it.

But once the initial awkwardness is over, this is one of my favourite things to do.
I have some very fond memories.
People singing and dancing along on the street,
Talking to lovely strangers about their day.
My favourite was when a mother's baby stopped crying when they came over to listen.

It's like the whole city turns into a community, which I find greatly fulfiling.
Music brings the best out in people, or maybe it brings out the best people.
Whichever it is, it makes for a fun night.
It is by no means easy work, but it is worth the reward :)
