A South African Forming a Band in Perth
A few weeks ago I made the announcement that my husband had finally lanched his online magazine that focuses on South African guitarists and musicians. If you went to take a peek at the blog, you will have a better idea of what its purpose is and why we are so excited about it. In a nutshell, we hope to use this online platform to promote our local South African artists while we feed the needs of avid guitarists. We will host interviews, showcase the best guitars and accessories on the market, and discuss good music in general.
One of the first interviews we did was with a friend who emigrated to Australia a few years back and is now living there as a proudly South African ex-pat. Justin, the main man in question, recently started a band with his new Aussie mates. Despite the influence from "down under", they have managed to add a touch of Africa to their sound.
Introducing: Built in Fire
This 3-piece indie rock band consists of Justin on guitar and vocals, Gary on bass guitar and Brad on the drums. And while these guys are all full-time workers with families, they are still taking the time to practice their sets and take their music seriously.
