Venezuelan pride ** King Changó**
King Changó
It was a Venezuelan band of Latin ska, created in New York by José Andrés Blanco "Blanquito man" Venezuelan.
King Changó started in 1994, with only 4 members, beginning to play a mix of reggae and ska but with the great cultural variety of the Big Apple I fuse their music with rhythms like salsa, vallenato and cumbia. Then 4 more musicians were added and with them the band's ability to experiment and enrich their sounds.
It was this fusion of sounds that led them to sign a contract with the Luaka Bop label.
In 2003 the band stopped producing music as a group and other musical projects began.
On December 16, 2017 the founding member of this band Jose Andres Blanco "Blanquito Man" died after a long battle against cancer.
