Steemit Jazzy Sunday #5 - There Will Never Be Another You

Hey folks ! I jumped straight into the solo on this one , skipping the theme as i thought that i could polish my chord melody stuff a bit more ( i am planning on doing a separate video with Joe Pass transcription soon ) . Used Fender Twin Reverb on this one . Dig the tone , although when in the mix , it tends to get a bit lost because of all the low end information that gets lost when the band plays . Practiced some double time as well , although not super satisfied with them :D The trick with playing fast in a jazz setting is that your phrases should sound elegant even when played blazing fast , and to achieve that you need to play with very little pick pressure and create as little attack as possible . Otherwise you might sound a bit out of place . There is a world of difference between jazz and rock playing although as a kid i thought that it is all somehow very related . In reality , it's like approaching a different instrument . Same thing with playing acoustic or classical guitar .
