The price for Vintage synthesizers is going UP

in #music8 years ago (edited)

The electronics music instruments from 70 ies are hot on the seconhand markets. The reason is warm and deep sound.Vintage synthesizers and drum mashines from Roland , Korg, Arp and others sounds better then new synthesizers.Built 40 years ago, these synthesizers still work and shake the dancefloors.Vintage gear look so stylish, solid and timeless.

Some of them are broken.Spare parts are hard to find. The price for a single chip for Roland Jupiter 8 is around 125 USD,and there are eight chips like this inside of it.How long people are gonna buy it?Vinatge sythesizers are become good investment.

Very heavy, beetween  15- 30 kg.Early electronics bands like Kraftwerk , Tangerine Dream, Pink Floyd used these synthesizers and carried them. That was a hard task.Today techno, house and IDM producers used them also. But they dont carry them out of studio. Not anymore.

Most of the new digital synthesizers are plastic boxes with lots of lights and leds, without the soul.Vintage analog gear is so hot ,everyone search for it.Many clones of vintage synthesizers are produced  recently. As long as new clones are coming out,the price for old analog beasts will go up.

Wonder how many just use something like a laptop these days to do the same thing.

You should consider including a source for your images. Including a source not only gives credit to who made the images but shows you put time and effort into making your post. This may make people more likely to vote on it.

If images are Public Domain or CC0 you could just indicate that at the end of your post. All photos are Public Domain for example.

Finding the original source isn't necessary. A link to where you found it will do.

Respect!I will keep that in my mind.
