It is a much different feeling to release your music on vinyl or cd then release it digital only

The musicians often spend a lot of time and money to finish new songs.Then musicians look for a record labels to release the songs.In the form of single or album.Today many record labels are digital only.That means they gonna release yor new songs in digital form on internet based record label.You will not receive any kind of material item like vinyl or cd with your music.Most of musicians I spoke to are very sad about it.The feelings and personal touch of your music is lost.

Internet based record labels spread around very quickly.You dont need a lot of money,it is almost free to open digital  record labels.You dont need money for pressing.Distribution is also no longer a problem.There are no record shops in the centre of big towns.Everything is on the internet,ready to use with only few clicks of mouse.

I remember when Beatport,one of the biggest music download platform now, invited me to release my new music.It was around 2005,not sure exactly.It was very starnge to me and I was not satisfied with that idea.I did not like it.Althrough I knew there are lot of musicians who dont have opportunity to release their music,and this is a big chance for them.The Beatport and digital labels allowed musicians to release their songs without any control of quality or quantity.

For the first time in history, everyone could be a musician and release songs on his own label.

This huge inovation results in two opposite direction.First ,many talented musicians show up.Second,a lot of not talented and bad musicians also show up.The music market become bigger and bigger and was very hard to find and select new songs for your own taste.The same situation is today.

Since then,all my music releases were on some kind of material,solid ,phisical form.Something you can touch and feel.No matter is is cd,casette,vinyl or something else,you can give it to your friend.There is a cover on it, specially designed for every release.There was a whole industry .Plenty of artists coolaborate with record labels.Some of them earn a lot of money for cover design solution .

Of course there is a reason why cd and vinyl music industry is going down compared to digital  music industry.Pressing vinyl records and cd is not cheap.Distribution is most expensive and many time it is nightmare to record labels.It is not easy to find distribution,even if you manage to find proper one,the fees are really high and the sales informations are not transparent and friendly organized.

 Finally,the records that are not sold must be discounted to zero or be burned.

As consumer,once you bought a cd or vinyl record you need a equipment for reproduction.These include turntable or cd player,amplifier on quality speakers.The price for this set up is expensive and  can go to hell of price.New music is coming out daily and quickly become boring.Therefore,you have to buy a new records and it become a big issue.It is much easier to connect to some digital record label and get a new songs, ussualy for free.

Many musicians wish vinyls again.Reincarnation of turntables.
