Produced in Prison??? Sound Legion stretches its arms working with producers behind bars. Talent has no Cage!!

Here at Sound Legion, we work with a wide range of producers and artists really exploring the depths of talent and sound as we venture farther and farther into the depths of both the internet and global underground music scenes, looking for new inspirations for good with a life and a story behind it.

2016 brought the Sound Legion official release Purgatory featuring UK rapper Clyde Majik Legion, produced by Chrisville. Shortly after release we ran a remix contest, which brought in around 50 producers having a go at remixing several tracks on the album. One particular producer who stood out in the contest and ended up placing several tracks in the top 12 was AJ Belik. Interestingly enough AJ Belik produced these tracks while in prison. Turns out this is not uncommon.

Gucci Mane was locked up on weapons charges since 2013, and was released may 26th 2016. Gucci Mane was putting out albums full of unreleased music while he’s was in prison. He’s dropped 24 projects in total, and all of them are available to purchase on iTunes. He reportedly made $1.3 million in 2014 alone, while incarcerated for the entire year.

Other artists who have made music while doing time include Meek Mill, Tupac, Mobb Deeps, Cassidy, Beanie Sigel, and G - Unit.

Sound Legion is open to finding talent in all nooks and crannies of the world. Music is a reflection of our Human Journey, Experience and Soul.
