Music Review: We Found Love – Rihanna Feat Calvin Harris
Already about six singles released by Rihanna from Loud's album bag released in mid-November 2010 and all of them are capable of singing on various charts in the world even some singles managed to reach the top position. Rihanna did not stop there, on September 22 last Riri finally released a single for her latest album, Talk That Talk, which is scheduled to be released in November this year. This time Rihanna is not alone, this beautiful and sexy black girl hooks the famous DJ from the Scottish mainland of Scotland, Calvin Harris, to collaborate on the We Found Love single until it has been placed in position 6 of Billboard Hot 100 and possibility to immediately rise to the top position.
Rihanna had time to give information on her personal twitter account that she would re-release Loud's album with some new songs but she corrected it and confirmed that Riri will re-release a new album in November this year. Finally on September 22, 2011, Rihanna for the first time to present the latest material for the album is planned titled Talk That Talk through single We Found Love featuring Calvin Harris as featured artist. The first single launched at Capital FM Radio UK brings a breath of electropop with a touch of house music a la Calvin Harris and a little David Guetta style to the chorus. The exact blend of Rihanna's unique vocals, the cool arrangements of Calvin Harris, and the added genre of music that is "something" at this time is able to make We Found Love continue to climb on the world's charts and become a guarantee of commercial success. Not to mention the video clip controversial appearance even since the process of making it in a field in Ireland that makes Rihanna must be willing to be expelled by farmers in the area because it looks too sexy.
At first I was not so fond of the song We Found Love is more than I have underestimate the appearance of Talk That Talk album that increasingly imaged Rihanna as an overrated singer. How not, since its emergence through Pon De Replay in 2005, Rihanna almost always comes up with new material in each year. It is true that Rihanna's works (not only songs and even images featured on each album) are always successful everywhere and nicely designed but I'm afraid is the boredom of music fans will figure Rihanna.
Nothing is booming from We Found Love that can make me unnerved. I think We Found Love is not strong enough magical power compared to Rihanna's opening singles for previous albums such as Pon De Replay, SOS, Russian Roullete, and the most powerful factor is Just Girl (in The World) which became the album's opening single Loud last year. Over time, it turns out We Found Love still has its own addictive levels that may be long enough to work on me. The chorus and the beat of Calvin Harris finally made me tempted to replay We Found Love until many times especially after watching his clip that can add value to this song.
We Found Love Video Clips directed by Melina Matsoukas who previously had often worked with Rihanna on the Rated R Era as in the cliping of Rockstar 101, Rude Boy, and the latest is the controversial S & M.. Matsoukas really deserves thumbs up for successfully directing this video clip with a gloomy mood with a naughty impression as well as vibrating through angle - angle taken and scenes - a scene that is brave enough. Probably for some people We Found Love clips are too vulgar with scenes like kisses, smoking, drugs and overdose scenes but for me Matsoukas managed to describe all the things that really happen to young people around us in a frame berdurasi around 4 minutes 35 seconds. We Found Love does not teach its audience to do so but at the end of the video clip it gives the right solution for anyone to stop living like Rihanna and her partner.
Rihanna and the male model in this video clip, Dudley O'Shaughnessy, able to bring the spirit of a very good rebel young man plus their chemistry that is beautifully created even though tragic. I think this video clip has successfully livened the lyrics We Found Love In A Hopeless Place and But I've Got To Let It Go because it as a whole told about a couple who feel deep and quite extreme love but that love instead plunged them into the thing not good, though beautiful but should be terminated. Somehow We Found Love that should become Club Anthem can have a very deep feel through this video clip. Frail narrative and narration is well presented by the Agyness Deyn model at the beginning of this video which makes it sound so heart-wrenching plus the British English accent of sexy Agyness. Glance from the storyline and the style of this video clip reminds me of the movie Radit and Jani directed by Upi Avianto. Some scenes also reminded me of the energy video clip Katy Perry's Teenage Dream just Rihanna brought We Found Love towards a darker romance.
Apart from the insipration of this video clip whose rumors are taken from the tragic love story of Rihanna and Chris Brown, I judge We Found Love is the best video clip in terms of cinematography and story ideas and pengeksekusiannya of a popstar classmate Rihanna after Man Down and Disturbia. Not only the storyline, scenes, and pictures - pictures that okay I think Rihanna also seemed to menasbihkan new image that will be in stretcher for the album Talk That Talk later via the video clip We Found Love this. Rihanna seems to be a little tomboyish style with steet style a la Grunge Rock 90's, with jacket jeans (denim) and shoes Doc. Martens. We'll see if he will bring the 90's style on his latest album or just according to the needs of this video clip concept alone. We Found Love song is simply an ordinary club banging song with chart-topping formula but the music video is it to the next level. Enjoy the chorus and dance to the beat. There is a tingling question in my heart whether Rihanna and Calvin Harris are collaborating considering both have a poor past story with Chris Brown. Were they team up for a reason? Oh just saying hahahahaha.
