Phenakistoscopes : Animating Images With A Turntable

As the plate is spinning a vinyl-shaped paper, called phenakistoscope is making pictures come to life. A succession of images is printed on different planes in a circular fashion, each representing a frame of recorded video. When the record is played, depending on the speed of the plate one of the plane lines becomes animated, and we can observe this simple but amazing phenomenon.
