Introducing: Aphex Twin
Aphex Twin is one of those artists that never stops to amaze me. Being one of the most influential composers of electronic music in the 90's, with his controversial music and videos, he has shaped the sound of that era. Richard David James is the man behind the stage name, born in 1971 in Ireland, living in the UK and is still making music. A pioneer is the first association I had when I started writing this post. He uses very unusual techniques and gear to craft his sound, but the results are mind-blowing. For an example in his track Equation, he drew his own face on the audio spectrum to produce a sound effect.
Needles to say that his videos will shock you, but leave you wanting more. After 13 years he made a comeback and released his sixth album Syro in 2014. This summer Warp Records released his first video in 17 years CIRKLON3 [ Колхозная mix ]. The video was directed by the 12-year old boy by the name of Ryan Wyer from Dublin.
