"Start Up" - Ron Parlay

To me, music reaches its utmost potential by bringing unforgettable moments, feelings and intentions to the forefront of our attention.  We read our own stories into the chord progressions while we suspend our imaginations between our pasts and futures.  We resonate with the music so intensely that we even channel the frequencies; our heads start to bob, we sway back and forth, and the boldest of us begin dancing.   As a producer and DJ, I constantly witness the power music holds over its listeners.

“Start Up” is about a new perspective I began exploring a few months back.  For a long time I was in a space where I was frustrated with the outcomes I was experiencing in my personal and professional lives.  It seemed like no matter what I did, I felt like I was on the wrong side of a closed door.  With the help of many loved ones, however, I came to eventually understand the extent of my ability to create the life I desire for myself.  Of course I thought I knew this before that moment, but like The Oracle told Neo, “there is a difference between knowing the path and walking the path”. 

While I’m not a very private person, I omit the specific details of my story because what’s most important is the resolution I felt after I changed a few “situations” and began experiencing success.  My intention is to inspire and I share my music in hopes that you choose to fill in your own memories, characters and plot twists.  Thank you in advance for your consideration.
