If you want to know how to learn to play guitar as quickly and easily as possible while having fun, then the internet is a good place to start, because there are a lot of tools at your finger tips to help you play songs quickly. But because you want to know how to learn to play guitar, it is important that you find the right online tools that will help you learn to play right away. Spending time surfing sites that have little value can be a major waste of time.

Here are 6 important steps that you can take to find out how to learn to play guitar online:

  1. Go to Google groups and type in "learn to play the guitar" and there you can follow guitar forums where other musicians and guitar enthusiast share tips and advice to steer you in the right direction. Many forum contributors also host their own music lessons on how to learn to play guitar.

  2. Another good source if you want to know how to learn to play the guitar is YouTube. You will find that the YouTube library for the guitar is huge. By flagging videos as favorites you can build up your own file of lessons. Like Google type in "learn to play the guitar" or even "how to learn to play guitar"

  3. If you are a beginner, you want to be able to pick up the guitar and start playing songs quickly. Lessons from a teacher will have you playing your first song within the first two lessons. This should be done online as well. If not, then continue to look for another program that will do just that, otherwise you will not know how to learn to play guitar quickly and will be wasting your time.

  4. Most good online programs utilize a concept called contextual learning. The idea is to get you(the beginner) playing and "jamming" as quickly as possible the correct way and is a great addition to just practicing drills which can be boring only to see slight improvements in your playing.

  5. A good online program will not only teach you how to learn to play guitar by reading guitar tabs and sheet music, but will also develop your ear. You will be able to hear a song on the radio and figure out how to play it. This is a skill that just reading music will never give you

  6. Many good guitar courses start for free so that the beginner can get a feel of the course and a basic understanding of how to learn to play guitar and where to start if you like it. This can be a real time saver since you don't have to surf the web for guitar lessons and figure out what to do next or where to start.

It's amazing all the things we can learn now using our computers. Your site sounds really nice. It is good to be able to develop an ear when playing music. I imagine it would be nice if you could take a recording of your playing and match it up to how it sounds when it is played professionally. Then you would be able to see how close you are and it would also point out exactly where you need to improve. It would feel like a game to learn. I believe everyone should have at least one talent in the entertainment world. Playing guitar is something I always wished I learned how to do, especially while sitting around a campfire with friends.
