Weekly Favorite Albums
Edan - Beauty and the Beat
Imagine if MF Doom made an album with Pink Floyd and Kanye West produced it. If that even remotely interests you, check this album out. Edan is one of those artists that you think "how did this guy fly under the radar?". Way ahead of its time, this is an album that inspired many artists you hear today.
Genre: Hip-Hop/Rap
Favorite Track: Making Planets
Jon Hopkins - Singularity
A good way to describe this album would be to just look at the cover. I imagine the best place to listen to this would be on your front porch at night looking at the stars. It's an album that you can daydream to, yet demands your attention at the same time.
Genre: Microhouse
Favorite Track: Recovery
Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto - Getz / Gilberto
What happens when a Brazilian Bossa Nova expert meets a guy from Philly? Well apparently they would make one of the best Bossa Nova/Jazz albums of this century. This is the album you throw on when you're driving along a Italian coastline in your old Ferrari convertible.
Genre: Bossa Nova/Jazz
Favorite Track: The Girl From Ipanema
