JAPAN'S GOT BEATS: Arµ-2: Voyage Kids [mellow, instrumental hip-hop]
"Voyage Kids" is yet another solid beat from this Tokyo-based beat maker that I know next to nothing about. It's a mellow, key and synth-heavy, almost Melodiesinfonie sound to it that I can definitely get behind. It's also got plenty of swing and swagger to the dry-as-a-desert drums that give the track enough back beat to keep things moving. All and all, its the perfect track to soundtrack your lazy afternoon.

Japan has some really great beat-makers with a mellow jazzy vibe to it, but I haven't had the time to dig much deeper than Nujabes and his circle.
Japan does have a lot of crazy good beat makers. Unfortunately they're also usually attached some truly mediocre (if not, sometimes out right terrible) Japanese rappers who generally make my blood boil. It's for that reason mainly I haven't gotten as into Japanese hip-hop as much as I want to.
Can never go wrong with Nujabes though.
