Sounds are very powerful and I think most of us have either songs, bands or genres that have influenced us in some profound way.

I can literally hear certain songs or bands and I feel the exact same feelings and experiences as I was going through in that point in my life, like a time machine. Its very powerful.

I don't really listen to music any more and haven't for quite some years, but when I hear certain songs its still the exact same, timeless.
