Oresund Space Collective- Kybalion
These stoned out Danes have been releasing albums for years. All of them are improv instrumental searches for your aural enjoyment. This one feels extra special - an hour and twenty minute journey through the cosmos. The very definition of space rock....take the trip.

cbdb- Out of Line
I discovered this Alabama jam band by accident in a chat room. They released this album (their 3rd) 2 months later. It has never left my rotation. Top notch songwriting and production. One of the more fun rock albums I heard this year. Addicting as hell.

Sleep- The Sciences
It was the worst kept secret in rock. The godfathers of doom/fuzz/stoner were recording again. Then out of nowhere, on 4/20 no less, they unleash this. The best doom album of the year. It had no business being this good. Some chat circles are saying it’s better than Dopesmoker. I’m not gonna go there. I’m just thankful this band still exists.

Weedpecker- III
I’d been reading about this Polish 3 piece on the Obelisk web site for a while. When they released their 3rd album, I got on YouTube and gave it a shot. WOW! Beautifully developed sonic landscapes with background fuzz. It would fit into a jam festival as easily as it fits into a sweaty metal club. Epic songwriting.

Spafford- For Amusement Only
If you have followed this band for a while, you’ve heard almost all of these tracks live before. What’s amazing is how well all of them translate in the studio. They recorded this in Chicago in 2 weeks, including a sax player they recruited off the street at that time. These guys are unbelievable!
