On The Radar: Songs To Watch For

"Would You Mind” – PRETTYMUCH

This up-and-coming group is so fresh to the scene that, by my account, they don’t even have a Wikipedia page yet. That surely won’t be the case much longer, following the release of “Would You Mind” last month. This single is a revival of groups like Boyz II Men and Backstreet Boys, but with a modern twist. The layered harmonies and some of the percussion and effects evoke ‘90s Pop/R&B, specifically songs like Boyz II Men’s “Motown Philly” and “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe. However, certain synths and the slowed down section of the song bring a more modern Pop/Hip-Hop element to the track. “Would You Mind” is undeniably catchy, and seems primed for a long stay on the charts.
