RICEWINE - Flood (2017)
RICEWINE is a solo music project by Talae Rodden. The entire time you listen to this album, you'll be questioning what style you think it is. At the end of the day, we should all realize that it doesn't matter that much what style an album is, but rather if we like the album or not.
You'll find that many people have that "problem" with this album, though. Several people mentioned hip-hop when describing it, which I didn't understand at first. Then, sure enough, pops up a part with some rapping-style vocals. Don't let that scare you away if you're not a fan of hip-hop, though. I would still only use that term vaguely to describe the music. Just like most of the terms I'd use to describe it, save perhaps lo-fi or DIY or something like that which encompasses the album as a whole.
Dream pop is another way you could describe it at times. Bedroom pop is another. Hell, it's even jazzy sometimes. Then there are speaking samples here and there to keep you on your toes.
