MUSIC BUSINESS 101: One Big Mistake Done By Most Up and Coming Artistes

in #music6 years ago

As a talent manager, music business consultant and brand promoter i have come in contact with several artistes who make alot of mistakes in their endeavours to be a superstar. Many independent rappers or singers take wrong steps that aint favourable business wise.

In your journey to fame, its vital to hid to working principles and strategies to enable you have better results as an artiste.

I hear alot of music bloggers stress the need for consistency in the music industry. But I’ve discovered that many up and coming artistes, abuse this advice by releasing so many songs in a short while.

A rapper (name withheld) released 30 songs in a year. This is Rubbish.

If the energy and resources deployed in pushing out those songs are used to drop atleast 5 songs, the artiste will be making a progress.

Stardom is not by how many songs one has to his name, but by how many songs that has his name on it that has been sold to the market.

Pushing your brand is the key thing. The consistency that remains vital in your journey to firm is not releasing several songs at a time but rather sticking to your BRAND.

Indeed how one handles his or brand is the main deal.. Most people are just interested in releasing album where there is a key study note in it or not.. If only all upcoming artist would read this.. Well done bro

You are SO RIGHT! It is not the quantity, it is the quality that matters. And even when high level of quantity is all of high quality, people can only handle so much new music, and I even expect that fans will become suspicious when the quantity is to high.

wow
nice post

I am so happy to read your article and hope that more and more artists will focus to publish quality music again. It’s been a drag recently to pick out the “cherries” among so many rotten fruits!
