Kamikaze Funtime
Kamikaze Funtime is a Northern California-based musical project by songwriter and musician Benjamin Owens. The music spans a broad spectrum of genres, and is generally characterized by Benjamin’s surrealist lyrical content, as well as his unusual production choices. While the majority of KF songs are driven by electric and acoustic guitars, an eclectic variety of instruments are also employed, many of which are diy inventions constructed from salvaged materials and scrap metal parts. Much of the music also makes use of orchestrated noise and sampled sound effects, usually with a lo-fi characteristic. Everything is written, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Benjamin Owens at his remote cabin-studio in the mountains of Mendocino County.
