THE DEFINITIVE NOT SO DEFINITIVE REVIEW OF THE 1975 "A BRIEF INQUIRY INTO ONLINE RELATIONSHIPS"

FINALLY

The review you've all been waiting for.........well..some of you.

A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationship is an album that speaks for itself. Every song has to do with some sort of relationship, whether it be with yourself, and figuring out how to deal with your own feelings, or with others, and infidelity (in a fun way like TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME or the melancholy song Be My Mistake: Not wanting to deal with the person that you are constantly having one night stands with and having to numb yourself with the fact that you're cheating.

Overall, I loved the album. The fact that this comes after Matty kicking his heroin addiction, is all the more amazing. From start to finish it was an amazing, cohesive, well thought-out album. From the very first track, The 1975, the powerful, almost ethereal vocals from Matty which goes into the fun, upbeat track of Give Yourself a Try, throws you back and definitely gives you an idea, into the mindset of Matty and his band of brothers. I love the fact that they tried new styles, and experimented with new sounds, but still held true to their foundation.

One of my favorite songs from the whole album is probably It's Not Living (If It's Not With You): a song about the power of drugs and the feeling you get from taking these drugs, but the power it plays on you on your mental state and how you keep gravitating towards it.

I've honestly been listening to this whole album non-stop, loving every word and trying to find all the hidden meanings in their lyrics. Love It If We Made It is a very sad and hopeful song at the same time, because off all the things that are going on in the world and how our political environment is so charged.

I hope all of you get a chance to listen to this. It really is a great album. A solid 9/10 from here.
