Imogen Heap and the blockchainsteemCreated with Sketch.

Hi friends!

All of us musicians and music lovers must be excited about the potential that blockchain technology holds for us as distributors and enjoyers of content. Imogen Heap has been a proponent of blockchain technology for a long time (in relative terms!). I have put together a little list of things that you can take a look at to see/hear her talk about Mycelia, for example, and play music released on the blockchain. In one cool video she shows off her Mi.Mu gesture-control gloves and talks about how they work and can be used.

If you don't know Imogen, these will introduce you to her. The clip at the end is the most personal look at her music making -- it's all at her house. I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Have fun and resteem!

Bye for now :)

Fans as miners!
This excerpt from a London Real interview with Imogen Heap about Mycelium and the promise that the blockchain holds for musicians, fans, and all those who interact with content, gets especially interesting at about 6:00.

In this video of a Guardian Live event, Imogen opens with the song "Tiny Human." Then she is joined by other panelists to talk about the the music industry and how it might and ought to change. (It's hilarious that one panelist -- who sounds like he's from around Liverpool -- uses an overhead projector with transparencies!)

Here is the official video of "Tiny Human" and an explanation of why she is using blockchain to create the mycelia network.

All about the Mi.Mu gloves. Lovely.

At about 8:00 Imogen lays out the kind of data artists can make use of through using mycelia.

There are loads of awesome videos that give insights into how she makes her music, including ones made in the studio as she's mixing, or after the fact. But this one is special, because someone cut and paste moments where she demonstrates different instruments. It's not at all polished, which makes it so charming.

http://myceliaformusic.org/ is the website for Mycelia.
