Hey You, Big Star...

We are going a tad bit heavier in this week's playlist song, welcome to Deftones if this is new to your ears.

Firstly I could not mention this band without mentioning that this is one of @princessmewmew best bands ever, and as must as ever bands is always the best one, this is all the way at the top. I think if I remember right, but she was listening to lots of Deftones when I met her. We were really lucky to watch them live a few years ago at a not to big a venue, which makes it so much more personal than say like a stadium gig. And if I recall correctly, this was also her most favorite live show so far in her life.

This song was actually one of the first songs I ever learnt on guitar and also the first song I taught myself to play on drums a few years later. Before I was only into more happy punk and ska punk, I was pretty big into bands like Deftones, Rage, and Korn. When I was growing up I never got into Bon Jovi or the 90's rock vibe, also was not that big into Nirvana and Metallica, I mean I liked them just not as much as music that moved me. There was something about these bands that was very different from what we were used to, and it just resonated with the rebel inside me. This song will always have some pretty amazing memories assassinated with it, also it's just a banger driving song.
