How to recreate songs for remakes, piano covers... (FL Studio 12)

in #music6 years ago

Hello!
This is my first video on DTube, so please don't expect too much (even if i'm a youtuber since a few years).
In this little tutorial, i am going to show you how you can remake most songs by ear or using Edison.
For the most popular stuff, you can search for the key in the internet, too. This way, you can exclude some keys so that you don't use them but i forgot saying it in the video.

The first thing is pretty easy: finding out what tempo the track is. Use 100-200BPM for most tracks.
Then, record the first melody (when there are multiple instruments in different keys, try EQing them out) and use the "Detect pitch regions" function in Edison. Copy all the notes in a instrument of your choice (best: the one used in the original)
Remaking drums is pretty easy, too: you can basically just do them by ear. If you're in the right tempo, that should be absolutely no problem.

Thanks for watching the video (or reading this on steemit) :)
