Foo Fighters - My Hero (live) [Auckland, New Zealand - Feb 3rd, 2018]
Last weekend I attended a Foo Fighters concert at the Mount Smart Stadium in Auckland, New Zealand. It was my second ever Foo Fighters concert; the first was quite a few years ago at the Pinkpop festival in the Netherlands. The 'Foos' are one of my favorite bands and it was the first time they visited New Zealand since I moved here, so I just had to go and see them! They were joined on this tour by Weezer, another band I'm a big fan of.
The Foos played an amazing 3-hour-long show in the non-stop pouring New Zealand rain. The show included Foo Fighters oldies ('Big Me', 'This is a Call'), classics ('Everlong', 'The Pretender'), and new tracks ('Run', 'The Sky is a Neighbourhood'). There was also a rendition of Kiss' 'Detroit Rock City' with none other than Weezer's Rivers Cuomo! One of the highlights of the show was this 'slow' version of 'My Hero', a song dedicated to ordinary, everyday heroes according to Dave Grohl. Definitely a goosebumps moment...
