Quiet and Right
It’s not as powerful as the original, but – hey – it’s unplugged. The music is quieter, and Merchant’s vocals are more subdued. But in a way, that simply makes it more listenable and maybe even more beautiful. (Image source)

10,000 Maniacs is a US alternative rock band that has been active since 1981.
By 1985, they had recorded 2 albums and attracted commercial attention and critical acclaim. Their heyday was in the late 1980s–early 1990s, when Natalie Merchant was their lead singer.

Yes, it's been a long while. I, too, have been away from Steemit for days at a time. But now, I'm back at it, creating many future posts and trying to post 5-6 times / week.
Glad you appreciate the music. This one is truly a great song, and a great cover version.
As for Steemfest, I'm still undecided. I've been having a bit of a cash-crunch, so I'm not sure if I can afford to go. But if I'm lucky enough to make a earn a bit of profit over the next few weeks, I'll definitely consider going.
