RE: GRAPTHAR'S SONG OF THE DAY: BUDDY HOLLY "PEGGY SUE"
Definitely a classic song. That plane crash on the day the music died also took Richie Valens at age 17. It really set Rock n Roll back a few years. Not much notable singer-songwriter action until the Beatles 5 years later. Tommy Roe had a hit with a song called Sheila which is very similar to Peggy Sue, recorded in the Lubbock sound created by Buddy. I love this song and these are my random thoughts inspired by it and your post. Thanks!
I like Richie Valens a lot too. Definitely, it's crazy how a single event had such an impact on popular music.
You're very welcome, glad you enjoyed it!
