Top 4 Japanese composers in the anime industry. Even if you do not watch anime, you have to listen to it. A bit sad and epic music.

The last 4 years I have watch anime, looked about 100 titles.

The second thing I pay attention after the story, this is the soundtrack. In general, I like the epiс and powerful composition or sad and lyrical using arkestra. This is not Jpop or Jrock.

I present to you my favorite composers.

 4. Ike Yoshihiro

The best of his work, I think the soundtrack for Ergo Proxy. Ergo Proxy anime genre is postapokalipsis, cyberpunk, drama, psychology. It has a lot of references to different Philosophy Classic works. The soundtrack perfectly sets the mood throughout the series. Very sad and epic music.

3. Yuki Kajiura

She has provided the music for several popular anime series, such as Noir,  Madlax, Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fate/Zero, Sword Art Online and the Kara no Kyoukai movies. Also she is producing and composing music for the group Kalafina, which consists of three female singers, they act in the genre of neoclassic. The music is dominated by violin and piano, it is also used guitars and drums.

2. Yoko Kano

Japanese composer, arranger and musician. Her best works is s soundtrack for  Cowboy Bebop, Darker than Black,  Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex, Wolf's Rain,  Zankyō no Terror.

1. Hiroyuki Sawano

Japanese composer and musician best known for his work on many anime TV series, and movies. Inspired by the works of Heinz Zimmer. He is the author of soundtracks for anime such as the  Attack on Titan,  Guilty Crown,  Kill la Kill and others. This is my favorite composer. His work is very powerful and epic.

Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoy the music as I do.

Cool artists! Why'd you mention Yoko Kanno but not her work on Macross? That series had some amazing pieces!

And are you familiar with The Sawano Drop? Pretty funny!

I have not watched a Macross.
