Twenty One Pilots

Twenty one pilot, is an American musical duo originally from Columbus Ohio. The band was formed in 2009 and initially were a trio Tyler Joseph was encouraged to create a group with his friends Nick Thomas and Chris Salih.

On December 29, 2009, they released an independent debut album and began a tour of Ohio. Tyler met Josh Dun through the drummer of his band and soon became very good friends. In mid-2011 Thomas and Salih left the band to continue their studies, following the departure of Thomas and Salih of the band, Tayler Joseph invited Josh Dun and joined the band from that moment would begin the duo we know as "Twenty One Pilots".

the inspiration for the group's name came to Tyler while reading the book "All My Sons" by Arthur Miller, a work that tells the story of a man who sold airplane parts in the Second World War when delivering his merchandise. he realizes that his pieces are defective which positions him at a moral crossroads or towards the right not sending his pieces but messing with his name or selling them defective for the welfare of his family and his business knowing that he sends the pieces anyway what causes the death of 21 pilots, the guilt of this eventually ends up committing suicide by the sense of guilt.

Tyler from a young age was very creative, recorded demos in his basement, wrote poetry and although he had a promising career in the world of basketball at the key moment of his life decided to go for music and fulfill his dream.

Josh Dun learned to play drums on his own, runs away from home to music stores to listen to hip hop and rock since at home he was not allowed, the families of both Tyler and Josh are conservative and religious.

On July 8, they released their first self-released album as a duo, the second of the band Twenty one pilots, they continued to be known locally. From there, his name began to sound in the ear of some discographies, some companies began to be interested in the band but in the end they chose to sign with Fueled by Ramen.

2013 arrived and with the "VESSEL" the first album of studies of Twenty one pilots the small duo had its first success in the American radios with "Holding on to you" which got to be the 11th place in the table Billboard Alternative Songs, like the simple ones "Guns For Hands" and "Lovely" they obtained much popularity in Japan and reached the position 21 and 67, respectively in the Japan Hot 100.

For the recording of his third album Twenty Once Pilots he worked with several producers like Ricky Redd, Mike Crossey and Tim Anderson the album "Blurryface", he came out in 2015 and became the number 1, his single "Stressed Out" It was number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and with "Ride" ranking at number 6.

In 2017, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun were nominated for the Grammy in the category "Best performance of duo / pop group"
