#MUSIC . Grace Basement . Mississippi Nights . Album Release Party at Vintage Vinyl

Full Disclosure, My Little Brother is a humble Rock Star and blessed to be playing with talented friends in GRACE BASEMENT!

By day Marc works for Billboard Magazine. At night he plays guitar with St Louis Rock Gods, Grace Basement. Grace Basement has just released a new album called Mississippi Nights and they are having a party! They are celebrating by playing shows around town at cozy record shops and cafes. They've played Euclid Records and are going to play this coming week at Foam. Last Friday they filled Vintage Vinyl with some hot new tunes on a brisk St Louis evening .

Grace Basement is the genesis of local musical genius, Kevin Buckley. He is joined live by Marc, drummer Jill Aboussie, bassist Greg Lamb, with guests from the abundantly talented St Louis music scene. Kevin is an uber talented musician, songwriter and downright good dude. Back in the day he played in my brother's band, Ashtray which was making waves in the local and indie scene. They were Godfather of TwangRock, got some radio time, and were a ton of fun live. My brother went on to follow the love of his life to New York where he eventually got a gig with Billboard magazine, had a son, and then moved back to St Louis. In between that time, Kevin had built an impressive local musical resume. When he heard Marc was in town, he gave him the Blues Brothers pitch, and Marc was back in a band.

Grace Basement has just released a new album called Mississippi Nights. The name is an homage to the famous Music Club that once stood on the St Louis Landing and hosted thousands of Americana and Rock bands. The beautiful album explores everyday themes with guitar focused rock melodies. Dreams rediscovered washed anew in the hope endurance brings. Friday Night they played a show at Vintage Vinyl, a St Louis classic record shop that has served generations. There was free beer from local brewery, Schlaflys and a full store of shoppers and listeners. Me and my brother Paul attended the show. I ran into an old friend from High School. My god she didn't look a day. Crushing night of nostalgia serenaded by Grace Basement. Bundled buddies and flocks of shoppers enjoyed the show. Browsed the rows of records, tapes, memorabilia, and CDs, then stopped by the register to ask if they took steem or bitcoin. After Party was back at Marc's house to enjoy company and celebrate his wife's Birthday. Everyone brought their favorite local beers. The birthday girl provided table tops full of flavors. Classic tunes and casual conversations.

I only talked a little too much about improv, smart media tokens, & steem with a couple guests. An local working actor and the other was a lady working for an LGBT Non Profit. We talked about little about blockchains but mostly about our communities. Enriching to hear others share what they care about. A fulfilling evening in the company of old and new friends.

The night ended with three brothers watching Olympic snow boarding. I can't say we cleaned the house, but we helped a little bit. Both Paul and Marc play music. Paul has played keyboard for a longtime with several bands as well as with Marc. Always a joy hearing that when it happens. We'll see each other soon.
