3 different soundtracks on the same images by me! (Supporting Cook's theory)

I edited these video's by myself. I needed to make an assignment and put different kind of music with different effects on the same moving images. I hope you like it! A little explanation with every video, because I used Cook's theory of conformance, complementation and contest. Link to my other article of Cook's text is beneath this content.

Conformance
The relationship between the images and music are actually simple. In the video without sound, I think, there is some sense, because you do not know what is going on and the woman’s voice has an irritated underlay. There is no explanation and in combination with the slow shot changes and the low amount of text you are not given more information. With the use of a swelling drone are enabling similarities to be found, like the swelling drone in combination with the bright light in the images and the text ‘stay in the shae, it’s hot’ that transfers the presence of the sun. Thereby the structure is an enabling similarity between the images and music, because there is not much change in the content of the images and the text that gets repeated; the audio-visual meaning would be that the conflict is ongoing for the whole scene.

Complementation
The use of the music at this point is definitely to call complementation, because the music fills in the feellings of the young boy. Cook calls these gaps; music shaped gaps. De music starts with a sync-point when the woman steps out of the car. At the sight of Tom the violins are added, implying that the music is situated for Tom. The moment the woman starts talking the piano stops for a moment while the violins continue, what brings the effect of dramatizing. Because of that you can conceive the cause of the boys pain to be the woman’s fault, since he runs away and her screaming could be an occasion for the music to intensify. Looking at the structure, the piano and violin both have a repeating character just like the conformance fragment.

Contest
The music begins with a sort of Mickey Mousing of the woman’s footsteps. This makes the beginning of the scene very playful, while not much is to be seen. The incoming of the piano is heard when Tom looks up. The cheerful character implies the two are playing a game which is made strong with the text ‘I see you’, like they are playing a searching game. Tom is, just like boys of his age do, climbing and the ‘mom’ chases him like she cares about his safety. This cat and mouse game is a stereotypical image of the concern of mothers which strengthens the comical effect of the audio-visual combination. The music has a break for two chords of the piano, that emphasizes the serious moral of safety by using the text ‘stay in the shade, it’s hot’. The audio-visual flow gets resumed when the boy decides to walk away again, which makes the music go on, on the same foot too. The structure is, just like the predecessors, repeating, but the tempo is a lot higher, causing the structure to be contrasting with the speed of the shot changes and movement in the images. The music changes the surroundings to be lifeful, while it contains no life, except the woman and Tom. Again the enabling similarities and transfer of attributes would be the repeating aspects, while it is not leading the meaning of the audio-visual relationship.
