Metal Weekend #17 - PLAY IT LOUD and share your metal songs
I am following @detlev ’s initiative and having a #metalweekend. Of course, every day is a heavy metal day but on weekends we have that extra chance to annoy our neighbors. So grab a cold beer and enjoy some heavy metal.
Here’s a choice of metal songs. New songs, old songs, songs that I hear and love.
So, here we go. Bang your heads.
Diamantis Picks of the Week
Brother Firetribe - Heart Full of Fire
Brother Firetribe is a Finnish hard rock band. They mostly known as a side project from the Nightwish guitarist Erno Vuorinen and Leverage vocalist Pekka Ansio Heino. They have released four albums and this track comes from “Heart Full of Fire” and features the at the time Nightwish singer Annete Olzon ( probably her best performance).
Michael Kiske / Amanda Somerville - If I Had A Wish
A super star collaboration project. One of the best heavy metals voices Micheal Kiske from Helloween and American singer Amanda Sommerville. Very melodic and easy to listem. It’s one of these song that hardcore metal friends make fun of you for liking it and non metal friends admit that there good songs in metal after all. I don’t care about labels and stuff, all I care is for good music. And this is damn great. Track comes from debut album “Kisk/Somerville” (2010).
Timo Tolkki's Avalon - Enshrined In My Memory
Third song from a project with a female in vocals. This time from former Stratovarious guitarist and composer Timo Tolkki. Timo was such a talented guitar player and composer and has written so many classic and it is such a shame that his psychological problems have prevented him from having the career he deserves. Hope him the best. This is from a project called Avalon which released an album in 2013 ( The Land of New Hope). In vocals is Elize Ryd from Amaranthe.
These are my picks for this week .
