Song of the Day - My Friend The 201 by Modeselektor

Sometimes it’s incredibly refreshing to hear a group take a left turn like this. Modeselektor’s latest full length left me feeling a little underwhelmed considering the time spent waiting for it. Not a bad record, just didn’t grab me like their past records.

However, this week sees the release of their most recent label comp and their contribution is a welcome return to the playfulness that has always made them standout in a sea of too serious techno. Whirling synths that feel warm and uplifting. It’s a true sensory treat.
