Song of the Day - Collider by Jon Hopkins

This week has been about highlighting some music videos that I found to be good representations of what makes the medium so great. Today, I’m going for a personal favorite track of mine from Jon Hopkins. The Pangaea remix of this has been a staple of my DJ sets for a few years, but I love the original just as well appreciating its emotional edge that lays across the more violent nature of the track.

The video nails this juxtaposition perfectly. It’s beautifully shot with some expert editing to blend the violet and sad story moments together. It’s not particularly the most pleasant video out there, but it’s hard not to admire what they have made here.
