Project Series: Ikora #001 || Live Music Production How-To [Complextro]
Hey guys! So I'm trying something new here. As you all might know, I teach music production within a program I created called Torches Academy. I would like to start bringing some of that content over here for you guys on Steemit and DTube to see how it is received. This is the only place other than torchesacademy.com that you will be able to find this material!
I'm starting with my 'Ikora' series, which is a 'complextro' track I made from scratch. It consists of 6 videos, where you get to watch me make this track from start to finish (I will post the track below so you can hear what we will be making). Within these 6 videos, you will be able to watch a few simple techniques, like beatmaking and creating chord progressions, and a couple more complex ones like sound design.
For beginner music producers, this is a great way to observe the techniques involved in this genre and learn some new things! For everyone else, it might just be fun to watch the creative process!
As a test run here to see how this goes, I'll be uploading one video per day for the next six days.
You can listen to the final product of the track here: https://soundcloud.com/user-435852982/ikora
Hope you guys enjoy watching!

Excellent and helpful initiative mate! I look forward to hopefully learning a thing or two
Thanks man! Hope it helps!
I sent you a pm over on discord.... a proposition 🤔
Okay! i just checked my Discord and I didn't see anything lol
Hmmmmm... I’ll try again
Well , that was easy. Now I'm off to learn Spanish :-)
Seriously though, I can see this would be easy for someone who is used to these kinds of programs.... but can you do a tutorial on a free program step by step for a noob like me? I have a 'magix' program that came with other software, but it might be easier for a group to learn on a free basic program if there is such a thing.
I don't wanna give you ideas or anything, but a basic explanation of a beat without even going into modifying waves etc. might be a starting point. Assume the person knows nothing and its an 'introduction to making a beat loop' or such.
Anyway, thanks for the lesson!
I totally hear you dude!
Yeah these videos are more for the folks who kind of have a general understanding of the program already. I actually do have a free 'beginner' series on Torches Academy. Maybe I'll post those for you and other beginners on Dtube after this series!
Truthfully if it's something you think you might legitimately be interested in, I would recommend downloading the free trial of FL Studio and experimenting on that rather than going with a free software. FL Studio is actually very affordable (and lifetime upgrades), so if it's something you really enjoy you could pick up a copy. Where as on the other hand, I feel like getting really comfortable with a free program with so much limitation can start you down a road that might be frustrating to turn back on eventually, you know? Of course I'm generalizing the free stuff because I've never used Magix specifically, but historically speaking usually the free stuff doesn't get you too too far.
Just some thoughts, but I'll definitely keep that in mind @leftamessage!
Thanks mate, fair enough.
No problem dude. Just my two cents though, let me know where you leave off on the matter and I'd be happy to help where I can!
that is really great initiative i will visit your academy a torchesacademy.com very soon thanks for sharing this .
