Nuclear Proliferation - Original Song
This is an original tune that has an interesting history. Around 37 years ago I was in a band called the Defenders or the Deaf-Enders and we played gigs for the hearing impaired. One of our songs was called "Nuclear Proliferation" and we would wear Civil Defense arm bands and helmets. Our lead singer would dress in an army uniform and he had the microphone connected to the end of the barrel of a mock rifle.
I was not nearly the guitarist that I am today, but the song is still relevant as nuclear proliferation still continues to put our world on the brink of self destruction, so I decided to record a new version with a full arrangement of tracks including a killer guitar solo.
The song has an easy chord progression, and I played a Fender Stratocaster, Acoustic Steel String Guitar, Fender Squire Bass, Dr. Rhythm DR-770 Drum Machine which I programmed the beats and fills, and sang using a cheap microphone.
Nuclear Proliferation - Original Song
Nuclear Proliferation ...
coming down ... upon the hungry and the poor
Come along and kill a nation
You attack me I'll nuke you
end it all in a radiated war
Nuclear Contamination ...
affecting all ... the little children and their minds
give to me an explanation
meaningless words are so cheap
answer me we're running out of time
Don't give in to your temptation
you can save or you can throw it all away
don't you have an obligation
think of the people you love
listen now to what we have to say
