Bygones are an awesome side project of Nick from Tera Melos and Zach Hill of Hella and a million other bands. Their 1 and only album release called By- came out in 2009, and it still is such an amazing album. This kind of style has been ripped off by quite a few bands in the last couple of years, as math-rock and weirdo stuff has become a lot more popular amongst those damn millenials, but these guys were doing it long before it was the thing, and doing it better than anyone since really.

This song is the second on the album, and is definitely my favorite. The guitars are just so sick, the riffs are incredible and intricate, the tones are so good and weird, and of course, Zach Hill's drums are just insanity, as always, and in this song in particular. He keeps the basic beat with hats and snare, but the kick is going COMPLETELY nuts, he does all this without a double kick which really is a defining bit of his style; there is something rushed without being off beat. This whole song is just madness in the best possible way.
