Fugazi is such a

great and influential band. They have written some of the most original music ever, utilizing a really stripped down timbre, just bass, 2 guitars, drums and vocals, with little to no effects, and yet came out with harmonically complex and unique ideas with every release. I believe the original intention was to combine some "reggae" elements with punk/hardcore/post-punk sort of aesthetics, which can definitely be heard on their first album. There are a lot of "groovy" rhythms, and palm-muted pentatonic progressions that definitely had some influence from reggae. Over the years, they evolved, and grew to be possibly the greatest punk band ever, although I'm not sure if they would be comfortable calling themselves that hehe.

Life and Limb is a song

I have shared before, but I wanted to share this live version, because its just so damn good. These guys were seriously talented, and clearly practiced their asses off, as their live shows are impeccable. It would have been amazing to see them around this time, touring for their album The Argument, as they broke up shortly after. This song has some amazing guitar parts, I love the little lead part in the break, super simple, kind of surfy. Really every guitar line in this song is great haha.
