Grapthar's Song of the Day: The Dead Milkmen 'Punk Rock Girl'
The Dead Milkmen - Punk Rock Girl
The Dead Milkmen are a punk rock band,
originally formed in 1983 in Philadelphia, PA and recently reunited in 2008. The original lineup consisted of Rodney Linderman, Joe Genaro, Dave Schulthise, and Dean Sabatino, and the band stood out from the other hardcore-punk acts of the era with their silly, sarcastic attitude and their incorporating of ideas from country, blues and rock.

This song was the single from their 1988 release
Beelzebubba. Because MTV was becoming a major source of music for young people, when this got on rotation on the channel, the band experienced quite a bit of success. I have always loved this tune, it tells the story of the main character and his love-affair with a punk rock girl, and the goofy situations they got themselves into, such as "shouting anarchy" on top of a table in a pizza place, because they only carried iced tea and not hot tea.

I liked this, it's upbeat and fun and has jokes mixed in which are pretty good and silly. I will listen to more.
