'Clapppppp' - New Original Music/An Exercise in Copy-Pasta ! - Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough!

This is a random creation

consisting entirely of copy-pasta trickery! I started with just the beat, Track 1, and then essentially just added various instruments and pasted the midi-clip from the first track into all the others. There won't be too many screenshots for this one, as it's all the same progression, but I'll go through the different instruments. Let's get into it!

Track 1 is our beat,

which is just kicks and snares. I slowly dropped the velocity of each hit to mimic the effect of a delay, without actually using one. Track 2 is a synth that plays a min7 chord above whatever note you play, playing a C, then up to an Eb. This is the same progression that we will use on all the following instruments.

Track 3 is a subby

sort of bell tone, which really helps to build things up. Track 4 is a bit spacier, kind of has an '80s timbre to it. Track 5 is a lot more obvious when it comes in, it has a laser sort of twang followed by a saw synth sort of sound. Track 6 is a synth-string instrument, which just further layers the progression. The final track is #7 which also has a bit of '80s tinge to it. This instrument doesn't really allow you to hear the individual notes, rather each C and Eb just sort of as drone. We end the track with the drums again, then fade out.

Hope you've enjoyed this song, it's definitely a random, short, goofy sort of thing, but I liked how despite I only used Ableton default instruments, it wound up layering into a pretty cool sound. Thanks for checking out my blog!
