'Arrival of the Phantom Soldier!' - New Original Music! Submission for Steem Monsters Art Contest! Orchestral/Electronic/Instrumental + Walkthrough!
So here's my submission
for this weeks @Steemmonsters Art Contest! I had shared an earlier version of this as a demo/teaser of sorts, but since then, I added more timpanis in a different octave range so they felt a bit heavier, along with a brass ensemble track to get some nice horn action. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the best orchestral samples, but I think overall, these worked nicely to get the idea across.

Tracks 1 and 2 are the
timpani's, with the Group of 2 instruments that follow adding our cymbal washes and hit. We are also in 7/8 here, which was a lot of fun to write in. Next up is the Tubular Bells, Track 6, which add a cool, dark element that I felt really fit with the Death Splinter. Track 7 is our Cello section, which builds up our basic progressions, with Track 8, the viola section, adding some extra layers of harmony. Next we have Track 9, which is our violin section which mostly handles the melody line. There are 2 sections, Gold and Blue, with Gold moving from a Dmin, to Gmin to A7, and Blue - Gmin, Cmaj, A7, F.
Track 9, Violin, Blue section.

Track 10, Grey section.
Finally we have Track 10
which is our brass ensemble, so depending on the octave, different instrument groups play. Again, 2 sections, the Brown section harmonizes with the Blue in Track 9, while the Grey with the Gold. The Grey section (pictured above) has a little lick that leads us into the main rhythm again, then mostly just big chords to add a nice dramatic swelling effect, in contrast to the staccato section previous to this.
I hope you enjoy the song! Go check out the Contest and support the other contestants with some upvotes!
