The band was originally formed in 2010 by Christian Eric Beaulieu (of the band Triclops) and Cedric Bixler Zavala (The Mars Volta, At The Drive-In), with the goal of creating a psych. rock/folk rock project with various musicians from other bands. They have recruited a bunch of big names, including Mike Watt (Minutemen, fIREHOSE, etc.), Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), and Dale Crover (The Melvins). The band has since released 2 full length albums and a couple of singles and EPs, though they don't come out very often, so as a fan of the band, I feel like I'm always waiting for more. This song is the title track of the band's self-titled debut album, released in 2012 on ATP Records, and is one of my favorites from the group. It has a really interesting, but simple beat and guitar pattern, which help to create a sort of trance-like atmosphere, which definitely fits with the general psych. rock vibe.
