RE: Sexy Dance Music from Bulgaria - Chalga

in #music7 years ago

I am bulgarian and here this style "chalga" is synonymous of stupidity, death for the culture, vulgar materialism and perverse values. Geri-nikol was 17 years old child that shows her body in a very sexual way :)

Thanks @godflesh - I actually heard similar view by a lot Bulgarian - however it is extremely popular, why is that? It is like the US HipHop scene in terms of vulgarism I would say

Yes, this is music for the masses. It is part of the Bulgarian transition. Chalga entered the early 90s, after communism fall, and was deliberately created to dethrone and devastate the people to make them easier for manipulation.

so you mean it is a style brought in by influential political institutions? If that is the case - Hip Hop was the same political instrument? Very interesting, let us discuss further

Of course this is my opinion, I can speculate, but I've been thinking a lot about this topic. Things are more complicated, but chalga stimulates the inferior in man, glorifies the animal in him and stupidity. The bad thing is that children are mainly listening to this. In my observations, my generation of 30-year-old chalga is an outgrowth, but it is being transformed and is now showing up in pop music - the same messages, the same rhythms, but it now appears as an alternative to chalga. This is ridiculous. And people who listen to pop, rap, and others commercial styles think they are listening something different from what the chalga preaches, but they wash their brains with the same trash. About politics - the chalga icon Slavi Trifonov is currently making a political project and will be a major force in politics. Aside from that, it's really funny and sounds like a joke, but if you live it is not recommended, hehe :)
